"Serve the Lord with Gladness"

                                                                                  Psalm 100:2 (ESV)

Mt. Calvary members, young and old, serve the Lord in many ways, from the youngsters who serve as acolytes, to the senior citizens who deliver sermon tapes to shut-ins.  Here are some of the many opportunities to "serve the Lord with gladness."  Call the church office at 824-8748 to volunteer.

The Altar Guild: They change the altar paraments according to the season of the church year, set up communion ware for celebration of The Lord's Supper, maintain the altar candles, etc.

Braille Workers:  They produce Bibles for the blind and mail them to countries around the world. Their motto is "Bringing Christ to Those in Darkness."

Fellowship Committee:  They're the volunteer chefs who add to the size of our waistlines but also to some great times visiting together and getting to know each other better. They prepare and serve meals for many congregational events.

Prayer Chain:  Every Monday morning and when special needs arise, they pass along requests for prayers for members and their families and friends who are in need of physical or spiritual healing.

Care and Concern Committee: Jesus said,  "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Matt: 25:40 (NIV)  The 20-some folks on this committee visit the shut-in and hospitalized, deliver sermon tapes and altar flowers, drive members to doctors' appointments, take them shopping, get meals to them when they're unable to cook for themselves. And the list goes on.  What a way to serve the Lord.
